Christmas Projects 2009

Social Services was able to help 115 families for Thanksgiving and 125 families for Christmas along with 95 residents in various nursing homes from your generous donations.

We collect 169 boxes of food for Thanksgiving and 110 turkeys. We provided paper goods for our families. For Christmas we collected 174 boxes of food and 120 turkeys. Thanks to the Squires for their help in acquiring food for us. They collected 60 turkeys and 95 boxes of food (each box feeds a family of four). We collect 92 turkey bucks from the Tom Thumb program. We provide $100 for the purchase of turkeys for Joe Kelly school for their Thanksgiving dinner. They fed over 297 people.

We provide toy gifts to 731 children, clothing for 371 children, 163 coats, 92 pairs of shoes, 38 bikes, 48 babies were provided diapers, wipes and other baby items, and 160 adults received a gift. These gifts went to Seven Hills Elementary school, Catholic Charities, parish families and the Keller Community Storehouse. We also provide gifts to Keller Oaks Rehab Center, Mimosa Manor, Whitley Place, The Sterling House, Green Valley Rehab, and North Point Rehab.

We had approximately 2200 angels on the tree this year. We collected approximately $30,000 in gift cards and checks.
Thanks to the Squires for collecting food, thanks to the Catholic Daughters for adopting a family, thanks to the school PSA for collecting personal items, thanks to the Religious Education children for the baby items, thanks to the small faith group that adopted two families, thanks to the Ladies Guild for the pots and pans that they donated to our families. Thanks to the office staff and facility management team who all make our job so much easier and for all their help and support. Thanks to Father Dennis, Father Jim and Father Isaac for their support. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with this project. It was all so very much appreciated. Thanks to all the special angels that may have been overlooked.

In comparison to 2008, we helped 37 parish families who had 94 children. This year we helped 55 families who had 159 children. Thanks to everyone who made these projects successful.
