The first meeting of the St.
Elizabeth Ann Seton Ladies’ Guild was held on October 8, 1986, a
little over a year after the parish was established. Since its
beginnings, the Ladies’ Guild has made many contributions to St.
Elizabeth’s including a stained-glass window, the Virgin Mary
statue for the Nativity, and the Pieta.
All women of the parish are
members of the Ladies’ Guild. We are also paid members of
the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) and we attend the
Ft. Worth Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW). There
are many opportunities for service in the Guild. We
launder all the altar linens every week, and seasonally change
the missalettes and hymnals. We make fleece blankets for
Project Linus, which serves seriously ill children in our area.
We are also a social organization. The ladies play Bunco
one evening every winter and have an annual Christmas Party in
December. Watch the Sunday bulletin for dates.
Our only fund-raising is through
the Fall Fest Silent Auction. We have made enough money to
give a $500 high school scholarship every May. We sent $4.000
to our sister parish in Honduras, so 20 children could attend
school for a year. We gave $100 to the NCCW for “Water For
Life”, and $100 for school supplies here at SEAS.
As the parish continues to grow,
we hope to increase the number of active Guild members.
Join us!! There is usually food and always fellowship…and
some very nice ladies.
All our activities are listed in the bulletin,
including meetings.
