BOWLING NEWS
This year we had a good showing in our woman's bowling teams.  Last year, we had one team—this year we had THREE.  Team #1 had Jean Knapp; Lucy Galvan; Marilyn Herrera and Vera Herrera. This is their second year.  Team #2 had Peggy Hart, Judy Hellman, Mary Knapp, and Betty Gomez.  Team #3 had Theresa Hampton, Donna Looney, Margie Papajohn, and Ann Morales.  We do not know what the standings are as yet—but we all enjoyed ourselves.  All the ladies want to thank Council 759 for sponsoring us in this great state tournament.  Thank you again…Vera Herrera.

Being appointed Captain of team #2 from Council 759, we had the strongest team in the tournament.  Four of our bowlers went in with 175 averages and one with a 122.  We made a strong bid for team honors but the only one who rolled his average was our 122 bowler, so we did not win, place BUT we did show.  I want to congratulate our team on the great effort shown in consuming all the beverage we took to this great tournament.  All the bowlers made it back Sunday in time to participate in our games nite—barely making it.  Some suffering until 12:00 noon on Sunday while others having a blast in the parking lot.  Team #2. thanks you for the entrance fee in this tournament.

Sincerely,
Tony O. Herrera
Team Captain

On April 28 and 29, 2 men's teams and 3 ladies teams attended the 15th annual K of C bowling tournament in Arlington.

On one men's team, bowlers were Mike Hart, Jerry Hellman, Bill Herrera, Al Knapp and Archie Roscoe.  They rolled around 2875 in team event.  In Doubles, partners did not bowl well together.

On the other men's team, bowlers were Tony Herrera, Joe Galvan, Carl Knapp, Jose Molina and Jim Papajohn.  They rolled around 2875 in team event.  However, they suffered the same fare in doubles as the other men's team.

Hopefully, next year in San Antonio, we can have more men and ladies teams to compete.  This is really a great event to attend and meet fellow knights and ladies from all over the state.  You can relax and enjoy visiting.

Council 759 has been the only council from Fort Worth to attend the state tournament the last 3 yrs.  Maybe next year, other councils from Ft. Worth will get involved.

On May 6, the Board of Directors of the K.C. Bowling Assoc. held a meeting for election of officers and select a city for the 1981 tournament.  It will be held in Ft. Worth with 759 as host council.  So all ex bowlers, dust off your ball and shine yours shoes.

Both men and ladies had a great time at the tournament even though we didn't bring home the bacon.

Info on how ladies teams did should be somewhere in this bulletin.
