SCOUTING NEWS
Mrs. Irene Herring will conduct a First Aid for a Class of 10 Scouts in February and March—each Friday at 7 P.M.  Also, 10 members of Troop 32 will take a course in a Junior Red Cross Life Saving Class on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 3rd and 5th and also on the first Saturday and Sunday in March.

Troop 32 will celebrate SCOUT Anniversary Month in (FEBRUARY), by having a Mod-l-camp and 50 mile hike at Camp Murrin.  Parents and friends are invited on Sat. Feb. 17th.

High honor conferred on Troop 32.  the Mustang District has selected Eagle Scout Johnny Ryan, SPL. (Senior Patrol Leader) to represent them on Feb. 10, at Austin, Texas on the Scout report to the Governor of Texas Program, as part of the Boy Scout week.  It was a long twenty years ago since Troop 32 was so honored.  Eddie Stanton, son of Baldwin and Bern Stanton, was named at that time, and the Governor was Allen Shivers.

Judge A.L. Crouch, Assistant Scout Master of Troop 32, has been appointed to the District Commissioner's Staff, Mustang District, as unit commissioner for Troop 32.

ALL SAINTS OUTING
Monday, May 21, Council 759 hosted All Saints Parochial School at the Children's Museum.  We had approximately 230 school kids plus teachers.  The morning session was headed by Brother Barbolla who met the Sisters at the school at 9:00 a.m. and escorted the buses to Will Rogers parking lot.  Brothers Arthur Morales, Bill Herrera, Papa Roach and Mike Barbolla passed out cokes and chips to the kids after the tour.

(Watergate)  Not knowing that St. Mary's also was at the museum, as the group of kids came out headed by Sister, Brother Barbolla escorted them to the truck.  They also received goodies and we were glad to serve them—(wondering if our worthy chaplain had a hand In it).

The afternoon trip was headed by Brother Molina and the 5th 6th and 7th grade kids, made the trip.  Again Brothers Morales, Ole' man and Molina served the kids with drinks and chips.  Brothers, the thanks and smiles and laughter we received from these kids made this trip a wonderful occasion.  The letters we received from St. Mary's are priceless.  We thank the teachers, and kids for letting us (Council 759) be their host.

THE INTERIM KNIGHT/AUGUST 1973
FIRST ANNUAL RETREAT
After many years of no retreats, Brother Art Ryan has organized one for members at Montserrat on November 1, 2 and 3, 1973.  He has twenty-five rooms reserved and twenty members who are interested, so far.  Years ago, they used to say, "If you are too busy to make a Retreat you are too busy."  That ought to apply more than ever today.  Contact Art Ryan and reserve your place before it is too late.

CHURCH ACTIVITIES
FIRST ANNUAL RETREAT FOR COUNCIL 759
After many years, the common-sense idea of having a Retreat for Council members has been renewed, as reported earlier.  This is a function of the Church Activities Committee, headed by Brother Jim Harmuth.  Chairman of the Retreat is Brother Art Ryan.  The following members have signed up to begin the Retreat at Montserrat on November 1-3:

Tony Herrera, Tom Farrell, Tom Durham, Tom Brennan, Arthur Morales, Art Ryan, Arthur Rosales, Archie Roscoe, Al Maday, Joe Galvan, John Gilday, Jim Harmuth, Jimmy Maldonado, Baldwin Stanton, Bill Murphy, Carl Knapp, Charlie Haggard, George Perdue, Mike Barbolla, Robert Ventimiglia, Leo Nezworski, Ed Gillespie and Pete McPartlan.  Our good friends Al Knapp and Joe Herring will also be there.  Reservation space is running out, so please make yours early.  See Art Ryan for details.

COMMITTEE FOR THE DEAF REPORTS
Tommy Farrell reports that a Day of Recollection will be held at Irving's Holy Family of Nazareth Church on December 9 for hearing disabled people from Dallas and Fort Worth, under sponsorship of the Knights of Columbus.  Father Beck and Sister Carla will be assisted by Father Clayton in conducting this event.  It will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until 6:00 p.m.

Tommy also reports that a new round of deaf language classes will begin on January 9, 1974, at the Council home.  We foresee the time that all of us will be forced to learn this colorful language in self defense, because so many members can now tell us what they think of us without our knowing what they are saying.  These classes are open to everyone.
