BAPTISM
PREPARATION
- The Diocese of Fort Worth requires parents and godparents
attend a preparation class. Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton holds
monthly classes at
- 1:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Husband and wife
should both attend (even if one is non-Catholic). This one time
class has no fee or registration. Bring a copy of the baby’s
birth certificate or a copy of the “Record of Birth” you
received in the hospital. You may schedule your child’s baptism
at that time. Please allow two hours for class.
One godparent is required. If you have two, there must be a male
and female. Canon Law requires them to be confirmed, practicing
Catholic; if married, it must be recognized by the Catholic
Church or living single. If the godparents live in the area,
they should attend class with you or at their Parish. If they
live away, they are to prepare as their Church requires, obtain
a letter stating they have fulfilled the requirements to be
godparents, and have it sent to Saint Elizabeth’s (to the
attention of Baptism).
Attending the Baptism Class before the baby’s birth is
permissible. Following the birth, submit a copy of the birth
certificate or record of birth to the Parish Office and you may
schedule at that time, as well.

during Masses on a given weekend (Saturday 5:30 PM and Sunday 9
AM, 11 AM, 5 PM) and once a month outside of Mass (last Sunday
of the month at 3:30 PM). Scheduling may be done at the class.

- MARRIAGE PREPARATION
To begin the formal preparation required by the Diocese of
Fort Worth and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, you should attend
a one-time Wedding Information Session held monthly at Saint
Elizabeth’s.
You will receive a packet of information about everything
there is to know to be married at Saint Elizabeth’s,
including fees. (The Sanctuary fee is $1,000, parishioner or
non-parishioner. If you are a registered parishioner,
contributions two years previous to your date will be
deducted from that fee.)
Brief synopsis:
You and your fiancé should both attend info session. A
compatibility assessment will be given that evening. If that
is not possible, one of you should attend so the process may
be started. The assessment may be given at a later date by
appointment. Once the compatibility assessment has been
taken you will be given a Request for Scheduling form.
To have your date put on the Church calendar, you will need
to schedule an appointment with a priest or deacon. Have
your REQUEST FOR SCHEDULING in hand. He will check his
calendar in conjunction with the Church facilities. Bring
your preparation fee/$150, deposit/$250, and your Request
for Scheduling form that has been signed by the Wedding
Coordinator.
