The Diocese of Fort Worth requires parents and
godparents attend a preparation class.
Saint Elizabeth’s holds monthly classes at 1:00 PM in the
Parish Hall. Husband and
wife should both attend (even if one is non-Catholic).
This one time class has no fee or registration.
Bring a copy of the baby’s birth certificate or a copy of the
hospital record of birth (showing the parents and child’s name, date
& place of birth, etc.) with you. You may schedule your child’s
baptism at that time.
Class is approximately 2 hours.
One
godparent is required.
If you have two, there must be a male and female.
Canon Law requires them to be confirmed, practicing Catholic;
if in a marriage, it must be recognized by the Catholic Church or
living single. If the
godparents live away they are to prepare as their Church requires,
obtain a letter stating they have fulfilled the requirements to be
godparents, and have it sent to Saint Elizabeth’s (to the attention
of Baptism).
Attending the Baptism Class before the baby’s
birth is permissible.
Following the birth, submit a copy of the birth certificate or
record of birth to the Parish Office and you may call to schedule as
well.

11 AM, 5 PM) and once a month outside of Mass (last Sunday of the
month following the 11 AM Mass).
Please note there are no Baptisms during Lent.
Scheduling is done at the preparation class.
These dates are subject to change.
Please consult the weekly bulletin as time approaches. To begin the formal
